The term 'playing partners' took on a new meaning for Olivia Cowan and Todd Clements on Sunday as the couple played alongside each other in the final round of the 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.
With this week's event seeing DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour stars playing in the same groups for one prize fund and one trophy, Cowan and her partner Clements shared the 08:45 tee time on day four after sitting on three under par after 54 holes.
Clements fired a closing 66 to finish on nine under, while Cowan posted a level-par 72, and both players said it was an enjoyable experience.
Cowan said: "Everyone's been hoping that we would get paired together.
"The amount of messages I've received screen-shotting the leaderboard saying 'I hope you guys are playing together', and it happened on the final day.
"I thought it was quite nice. Obviously we've played together many times but in a competition I don't really talk that much on the golf course, I'm kind of focused on my own thing but we did have a little laugh on the course as well."
Clements said: "It's a relaxed environment, as such.
"Obviously I was rooting for Olivia while I was playing as well, so that was quite strange to be really rooting for my competitor.
"It was just really relaxed. We had fun. Obviously a nice way to end a fantastic tournament."
When asked about the fact they were both wearing white on Sunday, Clements said: "It was a bit of a disaster, to be honest!
"I didn't bring enough jumpers and this was the only one that was clean."
Cowan added: "And this was my final-day attire set out already, so he copied me!"
